For a local business, your Google Business Profile does a lot of the heavy lifting. It's what shows in the map and feeds your reviews. It often earns the call before anyone even visits your website. Left alone, it goes stale; kept active, it wins customers.

We optimise your profile, post to it regularly, generate and respond to reviews, and keep your details accurate. It's a lighter, focused way to grow locally without a full SEO retainer.

The highest-return hour in local marketing.

For a business serving customers nearby, the Google Business Profile is worth more per hour of attention than the website. It's what produces the map pack. That's the three businesses shown above the ordinary results, with ratings, hours and a call button. On a phone, that block fills most of the first screen.

It's also the listing that answers the questions that decide a purchase before anyone visits your site. Are you open now? How far away are you? What do other people say? Can I press one button to call you? A profile that's been claimed and then left alone answers those badly. The business two suburbs over that maintains theirs takes the call.

The gap between a neglected profile and a maintained one is unusually wide, and unusually cheap to close. Most of the initial gain comes from completing fields that were simply left empty.

The fields that actually matter.

Primary category. The highest-leverage field on the profile and the one most often set wrong. An air conditioning business can be listed under the wrong one of two near-identical categories. It can then be invisible for half the searches it should win. It's one dropdown, and it outweighs almost everything else.

Services and products. Every service listed individually, in the words customers use rather than your internal names. This is also what Google draws on when someone searches for a specific job rather than a trade.

Hours, including public holidays. Queensland public holidays differ from the rest of the country and Google will show your standard hours unless told otherwise. "Open now" filtering is used constantly on mobile.

Photos that aren't stock. Real premises, real team, real completed work, added regularly rather than once at setup. Profiles with recent photos get materially more interaction.

The business description. Written for a person, not stuffed with keywords. It's read by customers deciding between three options.

Q&A. Anyone can post a question. Anyone can also answer it, including a competitor. Seeding the genuine common questions with accurate answers is both useful and defensive.

Reviews: the part nobody keeps up.

Volume, rating and recency all count toward ranking, and all three count much more toward whether a human chooses you. Forty reviews averaging 4.6, with a reply under each one, beats 200 reviews and silence.

Ask everyone, steadily. Twenty reviews in a week after two years of nothing is a pattern Google notices and discounts. A habit of asking every satisfied customer, every week, is slower and works.

Reply to all of them, including the bad ones. A calm, specific, non-defensive reply to a one-star review is read by every prospect who scrolls past. It persuades more of them than the review dissuades. Arguing does the opposite.

Never buy them. Purchased reviews are detectable, competitors report them, and the penalty lands on the whole listing. The downside is losing the profile entirely.

Management is $290 a month. That covers optimisation, weekly posts, photo updates, Q&A monitoring, review generation and responses. It's also included in our SEO retainers. If you're already running local SEO with us, you shouldn't pay for it twice.

FAQ

Common questions.

What is a Google Business Profile?

It's your free business listing on Google. It appears in Google Maps and the local "map pack" at the top of search. It shows your details, photos, reviews, and posts. It's often a local customer's first impression of you.

Isn't it free to set up myself?

The profile is free. Keeping it optimised, posting regularly, and actively generating and responding to reviews is what moves you up the local rankings. That ongoing work is what we handle.

How is this different from local SEO?

This is a focused, lighter service centred on your Google Business Profile. Full local SEO adds website optimisation, citations, and content across the web. Many businesses start here and step up to local SEO as they grow.

How many reviews do I need?

There's no magic number, but more genuine, recent reviews consistently help both your ranking and your conversion rate. We build a steady, natural flow rather than a risky one-off spike.
